ABOUT DCA

The Deanwood Citizens Association (DCA) is a non-profit civic organization representing the interests of Deanwood residents. DCA's members, programs, partnerships  and advocacy initiatives seek to make Deanwood a safer, more beautiful, and more connected community for all.

DCA was established in 1912 by concerned neighbors seeking to improve their neighborhood. The history of the Deanwood neighborhood and the history of the Deanwood Citizens Association are rich and filled with inspiring examples of civic engagement and community cooperation.  The DCA is a member of the Federation of Citizens Associations of the District of Columbia and the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations (DCFCA).

DCA members have met faithfully each month since our inception.  During that time, DCA has tackled challenges such as obtaining critical improvements to water and sewer infrastructure in the 1950's and 60's and championing the Denwood Library and Recreation Center Project. We take our work seriously but with a humble and inclusive approach. We invite you to join us in our efforts.

DCA is a Not for Profit Volunteer organization. Please feel free to review our constitution and bylaws.
